Fungus Cure

The two types of fungus that most often affect the human body are foot fungus like athlete’s foot and nail fungus like onychomycosis.  Both of these conditions are uncomfortable and both can sometimes be hard to treat.  Neither of these conditions is debilitating, but both are very distracting and can make routine activities more difficult. They make the search for a fungus cure an urgent one.

With athlete’s foot’s it’s usually the itching and burning that distract the sufferer most. Tinea pedis is the fungus is medically known causes flaking, scaling, and a nagging itch that can drive the sufferer to distraction then send them offto the nearest drugstore for a fungus cure.

Nail fungus is the result of several different types of fungus that can cause the nail plate to thicken yellow or take on a cloudy appearance.  The nail can become rough and crumbly then it separates from the nail bed.  While this causes no real pain the distraction of the nail’s appearance is enough to send a sufferer off in search of a fungus cure.

Fortunately there are fungus cures for these conditions.  Treatment of nail fungus or onychomycosis is often challenging since the infection is embedded within the nail and therefore, difficult to reach.  The treatment of either systemic antifungal medications such as terbinafine and itraconazole can be slow and can take a year or more.  Another fungus cure is a topical nail painting containing ciclopirox or amorolfine.  It’s also possible to combine treatments.

A fungus cure for athlete’s foot can be as simple as a conventional medication or over the counter treatment. Conventional treatment usually means daily or twice daily use of a topical medication along with good hygiene measures to ensure against further infection from the fungus.

Keep the feet, socks and shoes as dry as possible.  Keep the socks and shoes away from other clothing.  Use a topical fungus cure containing miconazole nitrate at 2% or tolnaftate at 1%.  If topical over the counter medications don’t do the trick then a doctor can prescribe creams or lotions that contain higher doses of antifungal agents.  A doctor can also prescribe an oral medication as a fungus cure.
